June 2025 – Ride Report
Sydney Ride Report: Sunday 1st June – The Settlers Arms – St Albans – 3 committee, 11 members, 4 guest
Another great turn out for our monthly ride with 18 riders including two new L Platers. This year we changed the route to only have two ferry crossings. After introducing our newbies to the rest of the group and appointing buddies to our ‘L’ platers we head off from Berowra and to our first Ferry crossing at Berowra Waters. Both our ‘L’ platers perform well navigating the tight turns down to the Ferry. On the other side of the Hawkesbury River we continued to Stonehouse Café, Marooata to regroup and have morning tea. While waiting for our orders, we had plenty of time to get to know a little more about each other and our riding experiences.
The ride continued to Wisemans Ferry and the Webbs Creek Ferry crossing. The challenging navigation of the Down hill curves into Wisemans Ferry did not seem to faze our newbie ‘L’ plate riders. As the turn to the Webbs Creek Ferry can confuse some it was great to see we all managed to stay together along this leg of the journey allowing the group to cross the river together. The rest of the ride was a little bumpier as the road in spots had recently under repair in section due to the heavy rains. When we finally reach the Settlers Arms there were tables waiting for us to enjoy the afternoon and the hospitality of the venue. Once again, a very enjoyable day of riding and catching up with friends.
