DESCRIPTION:Join all the GRO crew for an interesting ride through Sydney’s big river country. \nOur route will take us over two ferries and include a stop at the Stonehouse Café to stretch our legs and a chance to warm up with a hot drink before we continue our ride north to St Albans.  It’s a longer ride in terms of time but a lovely winding route through some great countryside\, possibly some Sydney roads you’ve never travelled before\, and of course the ferries that give this ride its name. \nIf time permits\, we will stop to take in the view from Hawkins Lookout before reaching Wisemans Ferry. There is important information specific to the ride given\, so please give your undivided attention during this time. \nCORNER MARKING/ TAIL END RIDER – This is where the Ride Leader will point to a corner and the Rider Immediately behind the Lead pulls over and clearly indicates to the group which direction to go. Once the TAIL END rider in Orange comes along\, they will wave you on to rejoin the ride ahead of them. Do not leave your corner until you see the tail rider waving you on\, you won’t miss them. Don’t feel [pressured to be a corner marker however\, it is your responsibility to ensure you don’t find yourself behind the Ride Leader. \nOVERTAKING – Riders are not required to make their way back to the front for the purpose of corner marking. If you overtake slower riders within the group\, please do so safely and legally. Under no circumstance is a rider to pass another on their left side. \nIf you intend to leave the Group ride at any stage\, let someone know your intentions so we don’t send a search party. \nPlease make yourselves familiar with the ride route prior to attending. It makes it easier and less stressful if you know where you are going. Please make sure you have a full tank of fuel before leaving the meet point. \nPlease feel free to invite your friends to join us. DESCRIPTION:Hi GRO Riders\, \nIt’s time for the group to embrace an evening ride together.  \nI have always travelled over the Sydney Harbour Bridge by foot\, car\, bus or train. I haven’t however made the journey on a motorcycle. DESCRIPTION:RIDE DETAILS \nDate: Sunday 7th January\, 2024 \nMeet: Ampol Foodary\, 1344 Princes Highway\, HEATHCOTE \nDestination:  Towradgi Bowling Club – 2A Towradgi Road\, Towradgi NSW 2518 \nTime: meet by 9.30am\, ready for 9.50am departure briefing \nRegroup point: Bald Hill Lookout\, Stanwell Tops \n  \nRoute map: goo.gl/maps/bLEJj6gA5Rs \nRide route: (128kms approx 2 hours plus stops) \nTurn left out of the Caltex into Princes Highway and continue south to Waterfall (next suburb). \nTurn left into Kooraban St\, cross over the railway line\, and veer right into McKell Avenue \nFollow the road through the lower half of the Royal National Park\, turning right at Lady Wakehurst Drive \nRegroup at Bald Hill for nature stop\, coffee (Maybe an Ice-cream) or just enjoy the view and watch the Hang-gliders do their thing. \n  \nResume Journey: Turn left out of Bald Hill car park and turn left again to follow Lawrence Hargrave Drive down the hill towards Stanwell Park. \nFollow the road along corners and cliffs to the Sea Cliff Bridge. \nContinue on Lawrence Hargrave Drive into Wollongong’s northern suburbs\, joining Princes Highway at Bulli. \nAfter Bulli\, turn left at the big roundabout into Memorial Drive (Northern Distributor). \nTurn left into Bellambi Lane\, over the railway line\, then right into Grand Pacific Drive/Pioneer Road. \nAt Towradgi\, turn left into Towradgi Road. \nContinue to the end – our lunch destination Towradgi Bowling Club is on the left and the beach is straight ahead. \n  \nWhy not take the time and indicate you are going by clicking the ‘going’ button on the Facebook Event Listing.

We missed this destination last month due to the ride being cancelled because it was howling down with rain. \nThis month’s route will start at Narellan and head out to Burragorang look.
