DESCRIPTION:Come along and join GRO for our first ride of spring. Arrive nice & early for breakfast or just a coffee\, ready to enjoy the ride through twisty mountain roads\, highways\, city traffic and open countryside ensuring plenty of variety. We’ll be heading to Picton Social\, Picton for lunch. \nDate: Sunday 7th September\, 2025\nMeet: McDonalds\, 69 March Street\, RICHMOND\nDestination: Picton Social\, 135-139 Argyle St\, PICTON NSW 2571\nTime: meet by 9.00am for breakfast\, ready for 9.20am departure briefing\nRegroup points: Wilson Way\, BLAXLAND ; Burragorang Lookout \n* ROUTE TO BE CONFIRMED *\nRoute map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/XaYfq2QifUzxJLBG8 (approx 128km\, 2hr10 plus stops) \nRoute description:\nHead west along March Street\nLeft onto Bosworth Street\nBosworth Street veers slightly right and becomes Castlereagh Road\nTurn right onto Springwood Road\, which becomes Hawkesbury Road\, through Winmalee to Springwood\nTurn left at the roundabout and join the Great Western Highway\nAfter 6.5km turn left toward Wilson Way\, Blaxland\nCross the railway bridge\, straight through the roundabout\, then regroup here\nVeer left into Old Bathurst Road\nContinue down the mountain pass\nStraight through the roundabout\nTurn left at the Great Western Highway\nTurn right at Mulgoa Road\, Penrith\nAt Wallacia at the roundabout turn right into Silverdale Road\nAfter 3km veer left to stay on Silverdale Road\nAfter 3.5km veer left to stay on Silverdale Road\nContinue to The Oaks and turn right at the the roundabout into Burragorang Road\nContinue to Burragorang Lookout for a break\nHead back and turn right at Barkers Lodge Road\nTurn left onto Argyle St/Old Hume Hwy\nPicton Social is on your left before Picton Hotel.\nBest Parking is in the carpark behind Picton Hotel\, Turn\nTurn left onto Menangel St West then Left onto Davidson Lane carpark in on your right.\nWalk back around to Picton Social \nPlease make sure you have a full tank of fuel before arriving at the meet point.\nEven though we have a great corner marker system in place\, it’s still easy to become lost so make yourself aware of the route.\nIf you’re new to our group\, look out for committee members who can answer any questions you may have.\nIf you’re a learner\, we can find you a buddy for the day if you’d like – someone you can follow for tips or who’ll follow you to give feedback. \n*** If the weather looks inclement check facebook around 8am to see if the ride has been cancelled ***
