GRO Monthly Ride, 7th September, 2025 – Richmond to Picton via the Blue Mountains
Come along and join GRO for our first ride of spring. Arrive nice & early for breakfast or just a coffee, ready to enjoy the ride through twisty mountain roads, highways, city traffic and open countryside ensuring plenty of variety. We’ll be heading to Picton Social, Picton for lunch.

Meet: McDonalds, 69 March Street, RICHMOND
Destination: Picton Social, 135-139 Argyle St, PICTON NSW 2571
Time: meet by 9.00am for breakfast, ready for 9.20am departure briefing
Regroup points: Wilson Way, BLAXLAND ; Burragorang Lookout

Route description:
Head west along March Street
Left onto Bosworth Street
Bosworth Street veers slightly right and becomes Castlereagh Road
Turn right onto Springwood Road, which becomes Hawkesbury Road, through Winmalee to Springwood
Turn left at the roundabout and join the Great Western Highway
After 6.5km turn left toward Wilson Way, Blaxland
Cross the railway bridge, straight through the roundabout, then regroup here
Veer left into Old Bathurst Road
Continue down the mountain pass
Straight through the roundabout
Turn left at the Great Western Highway
Turn right at Mulgoa Road, Penrith
At Wallacia at the roundabout turn right into Silverdale Road
After 3km veer left to stay on Silverdale Road
After 3.5km veer left to stay on Silverdale Road
Continue to The Oaks and turn right at the the roundabout into Burragorang Road
Continue to Burragorang Lookout for a break
Head back and turn right at Barkers Lodge Road
Turn left onto Argyle St/Old Hume Hwy
Picton Social is on your left before Picton Hotel.
Best Parking is in the carpark behind Picton Hotel, Turn
Turn left onto Menangel St West then Left onto Davidson Lane carpark in on your right.
Walk back around to Picton Social
Please make sure you have a full tank of fuel before arriving at the meet point.
Even though we have a great corner marker system in place, it’s still easy to become lost so make yourself aware of the route.
If you’re new to our group, look out for committee members who can answer any questions you may have.
If you’re a learner, we can find you a buddy for the day if you’d like – someone you can follow for tips or who’ll follow you to give feedback.
