RIDING WITH GIRLS RIDE OUT

GRO Rides are L&P Friendly if you have any questions or need someone to buddy you for the ride come see a committee member. Please feel free to invite your friends to join us, everyone is welcome as long as they treat our group with respect and follow our simple guidelines.

If you’re not a financial member of GRO we simply ask that you sign our waiver or you can take up or renew your membership on the day which will cover 2025, in the morning before we set off.

At our Lunch destination it’s a great opportunity for the new riders to meet other riders and perhaps group up for the ride home.

We encourage everyone who participates in GRO rides to takes a minute to read the following. There are a few simple things that we as a group attempt to do to make everyone’s day as safe and enjoyable as possible.

If you have attended a GRO ride you will know that the Ride leader will always have a briefing before ride departure. There is important information specific to the ride given, so please give your undivided attention during this time.

CORNER MARKING/ TAIL END RIDER – This is where the Ride Leader will point to a corner and the Rider immediately behind the Lead pulls over and clearly indicates to the group which direction to go. Once the TAIL END rider in HiViz comes along, they will wave you on to rejoin the ride ahead of them. Do not leave your corner until you see the tail rider waving you on, you won’t miss them. Don’t feel pressured to be a corner marker however, it is your responsibility to ensure you don’t find yourself behind the Ride Leader.

OVERTAKING – Riders are not required to make their way back to the front for the purpose of corner marking. If you overtake slower riders within the group, please do so safely and legally. Under no circumstance is a rider to pass another on their left side.

If you intend to leave the Group ride at any stage, let someone know your intentions so we don’t send a search party.

Please make yourselves familiar with the ride route prior to attending. It makes it easier and less stressful if you know where you are going. Please make sure you have a full tank of fuel before leaving the meet point.
